I recently planned and attended a weekend retreat for my girls’ book club. We did all the things girls should day on a weekend away: drinking, laughing, swimming in the lake, more drinking, eating, and relaxing for a few days while our kids were back at home.
The planning process wasn’t terribly difficult with the help of a few spreadsheets and some Pinterest boards, but one thing I did spend a lot of time and energy perfecting was goody bags. I began the process early to give myself time to personalize things, and I pored over amazon wishlists to find the perfect accents and additions to the bags for each guest. Here are my picks for the perfect girls’ weekend goody bags.

The bag
The first step of crafting these goody bags was to choose an actual bag. You can use disposable bags or paper bags that can be personalized with sharpies or paint pens, or you can opt for a reusable option like the canvas totes that I chose to personalize for that added special touch.
I ordered the 10-pack of canvas totes linked here, and personalized them with each guest’s initial. The initials were applied using direct-to-film transfers and an industrial heat press, but you could do the same with an iron and some heat-transfer vinyl.
I finished off each bag with a personalized ribbon. I used the blue, satin ribbon linked here and some gold foil transfers to add each guest’s name.
Self-Care Items

For each goody bag, I added a set of self-care items. These are just things that I thought my group of friends could use together while on our trip or take home to use later.
I gave each guest the matching set of fuzzy, pink sleep mask and head band linked here. You can find similar sets in multiple different colors to match the vibes or theme of your trip.
I topped off the self-care set with a face mask by Facetory. These usually come in bulk packages, so depending on group size, you could also add two to each guest’s bag in different scents and styles. I used the set linked here.
Writing and Journaling Items
Because this was a book club retreat, I opted for writing and journaling items as my next set of goody bag gifts, but you could easily swap these out for makeup bags, beach supplies, coloring books, etc.

I included for each guest a green notebook linked here, a pink pom-pom pen linked here, and a set of personalized stickers and bookmarks.
I designed my stickers in Canva and printed them using Jiffy Transfers. You can order bulk packs of stickers on amazon, but I like that custom designed stickers can be tailored to match the theme and vibes of your specific trip. These book-themed stickers that I designed went perfectly with the book-tracker bookmarks linked here.
I created the last bookmarks myself using a UVDTF sticker of our book club logo, clear acrylic bookmarks linked here, and pink bookmark tassels linked here.
Food Items

After creating a quick google form to collect everyones info about their favorite snacks and drinks, my next addition to each goody bag was a specific-to-each-person set of snacks, candy, and drinks.
I started by picking up some adorable, mini charcuterie boards from Michael’s craft store and some cans of Alani Nu from my local grocery store. I threw these in some girly, tall can coozies from Parker and Rae and added them to each guest’s bag.
I stopped by a grocery store to grab the snacks and drinks for each guest, and I picked up a couple shooters from my local liquor store for the bags as well.

My last included item was a custom glass can cup that I created using a UVDTF wrap and a blank glass can cup from amazon. You can do something similar with glass cups or tumblers from Hobby Lobby or Michael’s if glass isn’t your style.
I wrapped these glasses in bubble wrap and topped them off by wrapping them with dainty blue wrapping paper from Target, but you could use any cute, girly wrapping paper like the one linked here.
Personalized Items

Finally, I used the same google form as before to collect everyone’s shirt size and added a personalized shirt, which I designed in Canva. You can design a custom logo for your girl’s trip using your own colors and designs. I then turned our design into shirts using direct-to-film transfers and blank white tees that I ordered from Jiffy Shirts. These turned out so cute and made for great pictures on our last day at the lake.
I gave each guest a picture frame like the ones linked here, which we all signed, yearbook-style, before we headed home. These frames are available in many colors, but be sure to get frames that have enough mat to fit everyone’s signatures, depending on your group size.

And that’s it! Goody bags can require a lot of prep and thought, but they are such a great way to show each guest that you care, and when you add that extra personal touch to the items you choose, they can be used and enjoyed for a very long time.
